No. 1 International Women’s Day
There were so many awesome celebrations and social media posts about International Women’s Day! It was awesome to see ladies of all ages, races, and beliefs celebrating each other!
By far the coolest thing I saw was the new statue that was installed the day before International Women’s day in lower Manhattan (on Wall Street to be exact). This statue is of a young girl courageously staring down Wall Street and the Wall Street bull. That plaque at her feet says “Know the Power of Women in Leadership.”

No. 2 3D Printed House for $10K – This is probably the post that I’ve seen the most this week. I actually first found out about it because my husband enjoys Reddit and they literally seem to know everything immediately. The video of this house being built is so calming, watching the 3D printer print cement walls in a circular form…I’m all about that.
It actually also spurred a conversation between my husband. We wondered what the possible effects would be if 3D houses become the norm. We also think the $10K price tag the company claims is somewhat misleading. Is that for materials, labor, and the cost of the 3D printer? How much would the land cost we would build it on? Then also, since it is a large printer that can print onsite, what would the cost be to transport the printer? Would it be more cost-efficient to print them in a factory and transport them to their final lot?
Yeah, we had a lot of questions about this house…
No. 3 Noonday Collection – This is a fair trade company based in Austin, TX that designs and sells jewelry and accessories from artisans around the world. They operate as a collaborative business, or co-op, and allows workers a fair wage, fair hours, and fair working conditions. They also seek to make a meaningful impact which you can learn more about here. I recently learned about them from Jamie Ivey’s Happy Hour podcast (you should definitely listen to that ladies!).
I rounded up my current faves but they have so many beautiful pieces that support and empower men and women worldwide and I’d love for you to go check them out!
No. 4 Shelter Dogs Are “Ball Boys” at Brazil Tennis Open – This is just one of those clips that just warms your heart and puts a smile on your face. It’s a quick 15 second video that is so worth a watch!
No. 5 “How To Fake Your Perfect Life On Social Media” by a Mom – This video is so funny because while it’s an extreme parody, the desire to post “perfect” pictures on Instagram is huge. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve decided not to post something because it wasn’t cohesive with my other posts, or the lighting wasn’t perfect, or whatever!
I love at the end of the video when Kristina says, “you know what’s impressive to most people? The truth.” How true is that you guys? I know that if I spend too long on Instagram, I can start feeling bad about myself. Which is crazy because I truly do love my life. When I realized how I was feeling, I literally spent 20 minutes going through my Instagram and unfollowing anybody that wasn’t either inspiring me, encouraging me, or people I know in-real-life. Y’all, it has been awesome!
