Hi! I’m Ashley. I’m responsible for everything that happens on this blog. I’m excited to share it all with you! Here on my blog you can expect to find encouragement, frustrations, support, and hopefully some inspiration.
I’ll be posting about all the things that make my life more full like my wonderful husband, Austin, my goldendoodle puppy, Crosby (follow his instagram @crosbydoodle), friendships, family, cooking (or really me learning to cook), fitness, self-care, organization, jobs, faithfulness, money and just generally anything in the realm of “adulting.”
So a little about me…I’m from McKinney, Texas (a suburb just north of Dallas) and I love my hometown. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in Development and Family Studies, emphasis in Intervention and Administration (try saying that 3 times fast! ha!). While in college I knew I loved my major but was not sure what that degree meant in relation to actual jobs and positions so I decided to go to graduate school. I am nearly done with a Master’s degree from Texas A&M University in School Counseling.
At the beginning of the year, I moved out of my childhood home (thanks for the support Dad!) and got my baby bear, Crosby. He’s a goldendoodle from Lonestar Doodles and I just love him to pieces. I was so nervous about the commitment, but once I brought him home, our bond grew and I can’t imagine life without him. Plus, he’s pretty dang cute and cuddly! (Follow his instagram @crosbydoodle).
And then there is my wonderful husband, Austin Rogers. He is without a doubt the love of my life and the answer to many prayers. We met in February of 2016 and I knew right away that he would be my husband. In June 2016, he asked me to be his wife, I cried and said “YES!” We got married on January 22, 2017.
Above all else though, I am a Christian and I have a heart for Jesus. I am broken, I am a sinner, but I am also loved and worthy of redemption in the eyes of Christ. It’s a constant battle to live a life that honors the Lord and many days I know that I come up very short, but in those times of anxiety, frustration, anger, fear, I choose Christ.
As picture perfect as my life summary might sound, mix in heartbreak, confusion, moments of defeat etc. and you’ll have a more realistic idea of who I am. Thanks for taking this ride with me and following along!
