Crosby is my 8 month old Goldendoodle. I’ve wanted my own dog for as long as I can remember. We always had a family dog growing up but once I was in college I wanted my own. Timing and finances continued to be the deciding factor for why I wouldn’t get a dog. However, a couple months into my first year of teaching, I was in a financially good place and I knew that summer was coming. Now was the time! I did TONS of research and decided on a goldendoodle, and found a breeder in North Texas with an amazing reputation, Lonestar Doodles.
I put the deposit down on my puppy in October, and on March 5th I got first pick of the boys. Austin and I went together and I decided on the lighter red, curly eared puppy who was independent and a snuggler at the same time. Crosby!
Now I’ve had him for 6 months and I can’t imagine life without him. The first month or two were difficult. I was working full-time, he needed to be taken outside every 30 minutes, he couldn’t be around other dogs because he wasn’t fully vaccinated yet, and he bit holes in many pieces of clothing. But over time, I began to have to take him out less often, he began to follow commands better, and life with Crosby settled in.
He’s 8 months old now and basically 100% housebroken. He still gets a little wild and likes to nip and bite when he plays, he still jumps on people when they walk in the door but these are all things that we’re working on. Crosby is also the sweetest puppy, always up to snuggle, curious, playful, and a million other wonderful things. I love this puppy so much that I can only imagine what the love will look and feel like when I have a child one day.
Life with Crosby has been the most frustrating yet most rewarding season of life. Love you Cros!
